I would love to share some "Home" Safety tips. These tips are meant to further sharpen our senses as regards safety.

1. Maintain good housekeeping - ensure there is a place for everything and everything is in its place.

2. Handle sharp objects with care and keep away from children; beware of pinch points (sharp edges, door hinges, vehicle doors, etc.).

3. Make sure your vehicle is fit for the trip; check your brakes, lights, tire pressure, etc. and always put on your seat belt when driving.

4. DO NOT drink and drive - "Arrive Alive".

5. Ensure to have plenty of time for travel to reduce the temptation to speed.

6. DO NOT drive under stress or fatigue; take enough rest before embarking on any trip.

7. Avoid distractions - cell phones, emotional discussions, eating, etc. - while driving.

8. DO NOT flaunt valuables or cash, and ensure that all the doors in your car are locked.

9. Discuss fire safety with your family - handle all combustibles with care, keep away from sources of ignition.

10. Turn off electrical appliances if you are going to be away for extended period of time.

11. Do not use your cell phones when handling flammable liquids ( e.g. When fueling your generators)

12. DO NOT store fuel in kegs in and around your homes - it is not safe and cannot be controlled in the case of any incident.

13. Always drive according to the road speed limits based on the situation around.

14. Obey traffic rules.

15. NEVER refill your generator while it is running.

It is my desire that we all finish strong this year.
A word is enough for the wise.
